What a darling town! I love the old trees in front of the saltbox.
Those sidewalks, wow!
I love how they put the bunting underneath the windows on the one, (candystore?) Maybe I'll try that next year!
Thanks for the tour,
Nikki
I live in the Pacific NW where everything was built yesterday so your tour of homes that were built before Lewis and Clark stumbled along our paths was a real treat for me. What a great place to live.
Rita
I love that neighborhood! Even love the sidewalks!
I would love to see the inside of that Italianite home!
Thanks for the beautiful tour....come take a peek at my Open House if you get a chance, thanks!
Nice to meet you,
Bella
I love the look of old homes, but after having lived in one for 17 years...have to say...I sure don't miss the constant upkeep!
oh. they are all. so. beautiful.
and they look like a lot of the houses here in NE TN!
so beautiful.
Marie Louise - we couldn't tell you which one we loved more! We ARE disappointed that you didn't knock on those homes doors at 8am to get pictures inside though....!!! Connecticut is a beautiful state. The homes there are so charming and nestled in such lush greenery. My husband's aunt & uncle and cousins use to live there and we'd always stop in to visit. I always loved it when we'd go - we even made it to the Gillette Castle one time - now that's an unusual house tour we'll have to take next time!!
Thanks for getting up early this morning for us - we enjoyed it thoroughly!
Karla & Karrie
wonderful! so glad you decided to share the house tour with us!
Some of you guys are giving town tours !
Thanks for the tour !
I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this tour. These houses are gorgeous! I kept thinking, "That one's my favorite." Then, "No, that one is!"
I think the Tolland Inn at the top of the post looks a little like the house on my blog party button!
The saltbox from the 1700s is adorable, especially with the old flag hanging from the door and the way it has those two old trees on either side. Beautiful.
I love the porch on that colonial farmhouse with the green door, too. Wow. I would love a porch like that. Why are builders so stingy with porches these days?
Thanks for joining the blog party! -Julia :-)
Yippppeee for CT!!! A a CT resident I think you hit the nail right on the head!! Great home tour. One of my favorties!
So pretty, I feel like I was just there... Oh, wait, I was. The colonial with the gothic trim on the porch is still my fave.
Great pics - further proof that I need to get a new camera.
Thank you for including these gorgeous homes in Julia's tour. This has been absolutely delightful. I'd love to see these homes in person!
I lived in Connecticut for a bit and loved the homes. The styles are great, so classic! Wonderful photos.
What a fantastic tour! The richness and uniqueness of each home. I've NEVER been to Connecticut, would love to drive through this town and stop and have lunch under that beautiful tree.
Thank you for taking us on such a beautiful stroll. I think I'll put my sneakers on and come back for a longer visit next time. This was so much fun!
Thank you for stopping by and saying hi! Seeing all these houses is just too much fun!
What charming houses. Beautiful pics.
Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment.
Thanks for coming by to see my master bedroom! This historical area you featured is JUST gorgeous! I love older homes & would love to live in one, but my hubby is not handy, so I think you have to have that to live in an older home. I adore them though, great job on the feature!

Ooo....eye candy alert! There are few things I love more than older homes. I can't get enough of them!
I've also been fascinated by saltbox-style homes and would love to "get to know them" more. I've only been in a couple (in Bucks County PA, on a house tour in fact) and I really love the look and feel.
Thanks for these lovely photos!
Could you go back and knock on all those doors and snap at least ne shot in each... LOL... WOW... wonderful collection of homes! Thanks for the tour!
Fifi
Speechless! History and beauty...
I love old houses! Thanks for the tour! They are all beautiful and each have their own character.
As a former east coaster now living in California, that was such a treat. I feel like I just took a nice drive through the country.
I LOVE that fancy terrace on the Italianate. (And all the foliage is making me miss the east coast even more.)
Thanks for that great tour.

The Gothic Dutch Colonial with Porch is my dream home. And I love that painting by Fifi Flowers!
Thanks for the tour !
Thank you visiting my home earlier today...and I am loving your tour. These homes make my heart go pitter ~ patter. We could switch "coasts" if you wish....thank you for sharing.

they all have so much character...and color, and personality. some of today's builders need to take a hint!
being from CT (shoreline), I love all this...it is the true charm of the state.
thanks for sharing!

It's so good to see you back! Loved these last two posts! And I love a Colonial style home, we live in a Ranch style home although I would prefer the Colonial. Lovely, lovely tour, Marie Louise!
This is a beautiful area! I love older homes and the cozy feeling you get from them.
Thanks for the tour.

I just love the beautiful old homes we have here in New England, with so many styles. I have family in Tolland and have seen some of these wonderfully restored places.
Thanks for a wonderful tour! I was trying to pick a favorite and just liked too many of them. The Gothic Dutch Colonial with Porch though is sticking in my mind.
I adore these homes and love the old Maple Tree! Even though I didn't live for very long in the north, I still remember the sights! :)

How fun! Your tour was lovely. I looked at each home and thought "I love that one the most" then I scrolled down and saw the next one and said "Oh no, I love that one the most".
I couldn't pick. They were all great. Loved the sidewalk shot too.
Thanks for taking us along on your walk.
Hugs,
Joanne
Looking at all these houses made me smile. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
Wonderful tour...I hope to visit that area and see these lovely examples of domestic architecture.
Thank you for stopping by my blog today and for your nice comment. Do come again.
Wow! I loved that tour! Thank you! I enjoyed it! Screaming Meme
What incredible buildings!! I love this style of architecture - I could so make myself at home in such a gorgeous area. You just don't get such divine buildings like this in Australia!
i love love loved this tour, THANK YOU! I miss seeing traditional american homes like these, we had a section in my hometown in minnesota where all the first mayo clinic doctors built their fabulous homes in the early 1900s, the area was suitably called "pill hill" (a pun on doctors & prescriptions, you get it right?) and the homes there are enough to make you weep for old times, sort of a collective nostalgia we americans have for times we never lived in.
I just never get that feeling here in NZ, I guess because I am still an american down deep. :)
hope you are having a fab day.
I live in the saltbox on Tolland green....nice picture...next time shoot the barn in back.
lovely tour and so glad that i did not even have to remove my shoes at the door.
you make me want to do a house tour to show on my blog of my neighborhood to show that "variety is the spice of life!"
I love these houses. I stayed in a most beautiful house in Connecticut in 1988 and the lady of the house was a wonderful cook too.
